Ekiel's first day...

Ekiel started his pre-school last Wednesday.
I must admit I was having mix feeling about him starting school early and all but I believe this is what he needs. Watching TV 24-7 at home is not going to do him anymore good. With him talking like an old man, it was definitely a necessary move.

The big decision was to decide if I should enrol him in a Chinese or BM school. I remember not liking the Chinese subject when I was in kindergarten therefore I went to SFC BUT Chinese is a very useful language so I decide to send him to STK.

Everyone thought he would cry his eyeballs out on his first day of school but I knew he wouldn’t and true enough he didn’t even shed a tear. *big applause* He was shocked to see so many people at first and was a bit reluctant to join the other kids. But after a little coaxing he finally relaxed and I was able to leave him in class.

It was like a symphony of tears with majority of the kids crying. I think some of them started crying because they saw the other kids were doing it. One kid even puked his guts out, but surprisingly he stopped crying after that and started playing with the toys. Maybe he just had a case of bad stomach kan?

Since it was a 2-hour class, I waited outside of the school with the rest of the parents. I peeked through the window just in time to see a girl went to sit next to Ekiel and Ekiel took his school bag and water bottle and moved away from her. *tsk tsk tsk*

Second day of school was no better for some of those poor kids. They were still screaming their hearts out. Again. I went to peek inside the class and he was busy arranging the cups on the tray and showed a boy how to wipe their hands using a handkerchief.

We was so engrossed with the class he didn’t even realize I was there peeking. He then went back to play with the toys and he even helped the teacher to put away the toys! Wah wah wah… you can’t make him do that at home. The cutest thing is there were few kids following my son around as if he was the leader of the gang.

I guess his size has something to do with it. He is one of the biggest kids in his class. Some of the mothers were surprised to his size. LOL. I guess all the protein and calcium I stuffed myself during the pregnancy paid off. I just hope he continues to grow to be a 6-footer.

This is how it's like in Ekiel's class on the first day of school.
