Courteous and Honorable
Recently, a friend asked in Twitter if anyone could recite the Rukun
Negara.
I could.
She calls me patriotic.
[‘-_-]
For 11 years of my schooling life, I recite it every Monday morning
during the school assembly. How can one not memorized it for life?
After the GE13, with everything said and done, and the, what I can
only described as “madness” happening thereafter, I cannot stop thinking about
the Rukun Negara. The unbelievable racial
statements, the accusations, conspiracy theories, etc from BOTH sides are
heartbreaking. More so when it was made by people I personally know.
I understand
the tension. I really do.
However, we
Malaysians are well known as the multi-racial country living in peace and
harmony as one nation. Heck, we even boast about this fact out loud. Other
countries respected and commended us for our unity.
And I am
always so proud to share this with all the foreign people I meet at work.
I am proud
to be Malaysian.
Unfortunately,
our “insensitivity” and our ikut perasaan
blogs, comments, statuses and tweets, may fracture this unique and beautiful bond.
Kesopanan & Kesusilaan.
We are a
courteous and honorable nation.
So, let’s
keep it that way.
The GE process went smoothly. I was nervous for nothing! (^_^)

Election Fever
Though most of my friends (and
people on my FB wall and Twitter) are passionate about the whole GE13, there
are a few of us who are quite sceptical about the whole thing.
It is not that I do not care about
this country and I do not want what is best for the future generation as it
does involves my son (and some people used this against me) I still believe the
election is about picking the lesser of two evils.
I truly do; simply based on the
things I read and hear. Some political party supporter tells me not to believe
everything, but that my point is exactly.
What is the truth?
Whom can I trust?
Who is sincere about making this
nation a better place?
Who is humble enough to serve the country?
Who is humble enough to serve the country?
I also don’t understand the
direction of their political campaign gimmick.
If you vote us, we will give you this and that.
But the things they promised are
basic stuff; better roads, affordable homes, fair education, etc.
What I want to know is; why didn’t
they do/provide all this the last decades?
They had plenty of time to prove
themselves.
The way they attack the other party
using “scare” tactics openly is just so sad.
Not as sad as the begging technique
though.
If you “sayang”
me, you will vote for me.
I have an annoying ex who does
exactly that.
Not pretty.
And the other one, well...
Yes, we need change but do they really
have what it takes?
With all the changes they will make,
how will it affect everyone?
I am not saying the current situation is great, but it could be a lot worse no?
I am not saying the current situation is great, but it could be a lot worse no?
Besides, one does not make changes without
affecting anything.
Will that change work for Sabah?
We’ve tried “change” (every other
year) at one point, but that didn’t turn out well.
So, that “change” got changed.
Besides, change has to start from yourself.
You want to change the world, and yet, your attitude and behaviour has not changed.
How?
Besides, change has to start from yourself.
You want to change the world, and yet, your attitude and behaviour has not changed.
How?
Even within one party, people are
fighting for the bigger “share”.
Like those independent candidates who were not nominated through their party.
How sure you that these combined
parties will not end up fighting for the “bigger pie” positions later?
The commonality I find is how religion and ethnic group issues are brought into all this madness.
It is so frustrating.
I do not want a government who
treats me like I am an idiot.
I do not want a government who is
all talk but no action.
Maybe my dad is
right.
Pick the candidate who will try
their damnest best to make a difference, no matter which political party they
belong to. Pick who YOU believe in.
and by the way, your vote is CONFIDENTIAL. So stop asking me!
and by the way, your vote is CONFIDENTIAL. So stop asking me!
On another note, I am quite nervous
as this will be my first voting.
Guess who will be trailing behind
her dad like a lost chicken this Sunday at the polling station?

Today
Some people
asked me how can I so calm and diplomatic with the current situation in Sabah.
Because panicking and believing everything
people tell me would not do anyone any good.
The best we
can do is to keep calm, stay sensible and be safe.
I hope this
ends soon.

I am not vain...
I just really do not know what to do with compliments. A friend actually said, "You're welcome" before I even said "Thank you". It was awkward and embarrassing. ('-__-)

politic
Everyone is
busy “discussing” about GE these days. Those who are, fanatical, would try to
shove their idealism down your throat, and they are those who are more,
civilized, share their view of the matter reasonably.
Everyone has
the freedom to vote whomever they think is right.
My only
question is; how sure are you with what you know?
One thing for
certain, you cannot believe everything you see, hear or read these days. The
truth has been tainted so much, it becomes a joke.
And I have a
BIG problem with the “bribery-style” vote-fishing method used by EVERYONE.
Maybe it was badly rephrased by some people, but this is exactly what I am
talking about.
How would we
know what the truth is?
Like the LD
incident, I have heard so many “theories” you can actually make a 3-hour movie
out of it. Of course I am concerned about the incident, but to blindly take out
your weapons and fight is not a very bright thing to do. Neither is sitting
around pretending it didn’t happened. The relevant people, whom the people
trusted and voted as well as those who pledged to make this country safe,
should have taken better measures when addressing this issue.
By the way,
with all the “high-tech” gadgets, etc, how can one miss a group of 100 people
crossing your border? So, maybe they come separately, which will take them
weeks if not days to get everyone in but didn’t anyone find them suspicious? Come
on. A big group of unknown people gather in a small location-tell me how is this
not fishy? What did they think? They were there for sightseeing?
But one
thing I do know that, this GE will be a very interesting one indeed. I have
friends who are rallying friends staying out of the country to come back and
make a difference.
And here I
am still undecided.
All I want
is a safe and prosperous country. A country that promotes respect, love and
unity among its multi-racial and multi-religion people.
It is not so
much about the party, but it is the candidates I am worried about.

Love is...
when the boy despite his protests, still do all the silly poses the mommy asked him to do.
Happy Valentine's Day!
And yes, all the photos of bouquets of flowers my girl friends received in my FB wall is making me a little jealous. (>.<)

Horse-scope
So the Year of the Snake is slithering in, in full speed.
(Wasn’t Christmas last week?)
While my mom and sister were busy discussing menus and everything
yummy, I was busy trying to figure out the solution for, no, not world peace,
but for people with mental attitude problems.
They are making life absolutely miserable these days.
The solution?
RUN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WHENEVER YOU SEE ONE COMING because there
is no cure for selfishness when mixed with delusions.
Anyways.
Every year, if you’re anything like me and my friends, this is when
one would search for the “new year” horoscope readings. I have such nice
friends who would even send me mine. SO, the first reading I read was excellent
- Potential love, meeting new people, lots of money coming my way, good career,
etc. The second reading was pretty much the same too. But the readings after
that became all about work. And nothing else.
Wth?
And my friend said it’s okay because I get to make money. ^__^ Funny
friend I have.
I admit that when reading this horoscope thingy, the first thing I would
read is LOVE. Don’t know if this is habit or I am just getting caught up with
the age and the whole “I do not want to be the old lady and the cats, a lot of
cats”, but everything else e.g. work, health and money becomes like, side
dishes. I eat/read them because it is there.
If my love reading is great, then I am happy regardless if it is for
real or not. It’s the anticipation of something MAY happen that makes me giddy
with joy.
It’s the reunion dinner tonight and we’re having k fried chickens because they have no time to cook.

Let's have a Kiki
I was taken
aback when someone asked me if I am still actually watching the new season of
Glee.
The reason
was, Glee is lame.
What are we?
High school kids?
One does not tell another what he or she watches, wear, eat, like, etc are lame.
One does not tell another what he or she watches, wear, eat, like, etc are lame.
Who made you
the judges of what’s cool anyway?
Though I
agree and the reason I watch Glee was more for the singing, I just smile and
say Glee makes me ‘happy’.
It does.

no tear
People tell me how they cried while watching The Impossible, the movie about the family surviving the Tsunami. So I was fully prepared to cry my eyes out.
But, ladies and gentlemen, I, Angelicbug or also known as the "Waterworks" among my family, did not even shed a drop of tear.
It is official.
I am broken.

Our first trip for 2013.

tequila!
I know what I
want in life.
I just don’t
know how to make that happen.
At this age,
a change can be scary.
And the
thought of failing, is even scarier.
Especially
when there is an almost 8 year old who enjoys his McD, movies and arcade games.
However.
This is the
decision I made, the path I chose.
I always say
if life gives you lemon, make margaritas.
But who’s
bringing the tequila?

what?
Everything and
everyone is talking about marriage.
The gospel. Friend. Families. Movies. And Ekiel included.
The gospel. Friend. Families. Movies. And Ekiel included.
He surprised
me when he said he wants to get married at the age of 34.
And his menu
includes meehoon and fish balls.
*rolls eye*
He also told
me to marry a handsome man.
Like he will
marry a pretty girl so they can have cute babies.
If I can’t get one, I can always “do” something about it.
*faints*

Bluff
Among the many things I have wished and asked for, the
Universe decided to listen and combine my blabbing about editing my mobile
phone book and needing another clean slate.
“Universe, can’t you tell it was a bluff?”
I got my phone back. EVERYTHING but my photos (thankfully)
is gone. All the saved messages, my apps, the contact numbers that I kinda need
soon were gone. They didn’t even say goodbye.
And yes, I have mentally kicked myself in the arse for not “backing
up” my mobile.
One should
not take this kind of things lightly.
Lesson
learned. The hard way.
I am happy
about the phone but sad that within my two weeks missing, I did not get a single
sms nor missed calls.
So I am
going to pretend, that this is the Universe’s way of telling me go out and meet
new people.
You know what Universe?
Challenge accepted.
Challenge accepted.
