cleaning out my closet

It’s already 21st January 2011.
And my pants are still a little tight.
*sighs dramatically*

I have a SERIES of events to look forward to from next week onwards. And every night, I lay on my bed wondering what could I wear without looking like a pumpkin. Or a mommy pig about to give birth to 10 little piglets.
*sighs dramatically again*

Since when am I so concerned with my looks? Bah, I’ll be 33 in less than a month, so if not now, when again kan? When I’m 66? *LOL*

Nay, I don’t mind getting older and I have GOOD FEELING that this year would be a FANTASTIC year. Kan double digit juga ‘11’. And so far, very good. *woohoo*

Anyways, back to my nightly frets.

You know how sometimes you buy something really nice and save it for special occasion only? I learned this the hard way despite the many sobbing stories I read in the Chicken Soup for The Soul or other inspirational stories. My favourite favourite perfume which I saved for special special occasion died when I was unpacking my stuffs during the ‘move back home’ the other day. Then I realized the many other things I bought but never used, so this year, this one habit will stop and I am starting with all the unused dresses, tops and make-ups that I have.

It’s kinda funny. With my collections of eye shadows and lipsticks, you would think I am a makeup artist or those who wears makeup almost 24/7. Truth is, I only colour my face when I have a big event or function to attend. Trust you me, if I could show up bare-faced at the office, I would too.

Those pretty colours are just too irresistible. I swear one time I could hear the gorgeous shimmering gold eye shadow, which I have never used spoke to me. “You need me. I’ll make your eyes pop and beautiful; you’d feel and look sex-xy”.

And where can I wear the gorgeous shimmering gold eye shadow? I shall find an occasion to wear this year. Even if I have to use it when I do my grocery shopping at Servay.

I also have many of those ‘clothes I would wear after I lose the weight’ which of course never happened. *head hangs in shame* Some I just don’t wear because, again, no special reason to. But again, if I have to I will wear it with the gold eye shadow when I go Servay.

This weekend, I must do something about my organized mess. Instead of buying more containers/shelves, it is time to get rid the things I don’t really need. And that include those negative people around me.

Seriously, why would I want to be around people who ask me silly questions like “Are you still fat?”

i cant remember when i read this inspirational story about a wife who bought a special dress and keep it so that she can wear it for the occasion she think she will have with her husband one day...the occasion never happened..cos she died.

since then i tell myself, if i want to wear something, do something, say something, etc..i better act on it now than to wait and see it never happen.

bah good luck on your closet cleaning...usher the positive vibes!
