I sometimes wonder what makes anyone decide to commit his life in helping other people. Although I have this strong desire to do something for the underprivileged children, I am unable to give up my job (despite the just-enough pay) and work for a charity body for a minimal or no pay at all despite knowing it will be more rewarding and satisfying with lesser “political drama”.

“I need money to survive and provide for my son” I reasoned.

My dad always tells me I could do charity part time when I told him I want to go into social work after finishing high school. 13 years later, I still haven’t done any part time social work. People always assume it is easy to do but they underestimate the responsibility or even the level of commitment that comes with the job.

The head says one thing, the mind says another.

Stand Up 2 Cancer was aired two nights ago on AXN. It was an hour show to collect fund for cancer research in America. I felt the show was a little dull despite the many celebrities, but their effort to combat cancer is admirable.
